Hold Harmless Policy

Welcome to the IFA Family! Whether you are a returning participant who has already been a part of previous Archana events, or a new volunteer, we are sure that this will be a rewarding and enriching experience for you, as well as a lot of fun as you rejoin old friends and make new ones this year.

IFA is an all-volunteer organization. All such activities are conducted under the guidance of the relevant IFA committees. However, the activities may be supervised and managed by volunteers who are not officially connected to IFA.

We make every effort to ensure that activities are performed with prudence and care so that no harm comes to the participants. However, these activities have varying levels of physical and emotional demands, and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are able to perform them. You must let your supervisor know if at any point you feel any difficulty in moving forward.

IFA has been conducting its activities since 1994 during which time, hundreds of volunteers have participated in IFA activities with satisfaction. We have not encountered any instance of physical, emotional or other harm to any participant.

As your coordinator/choreographer – I want to inform you of a few key points in your relations with IFA in the following weeks while we prepare for Archana and stage the grand performance on May 11th.

1.       You are voluntarily participating in India Friends Association’s events (including the practice sessions and rehearsals for these events), with full knowledge that participation in some of the events might be strenuous, and further, that there is risk of personal injury, illness or property loss or damage. You agree to assume all the risks of participating in these activities and agree that you will not hold IFA liable for any damages and will not make any claims on IFA for any injury or damage to property or possessions.

2.       All participants are expected to be courteous. The person in charge of any India Friends Association event (including the practice sessions and rehearsals for these events) reserves the right to dismiss any attendees whose behavior is disruptive to the event or potentially harmful to themselves or other participants.

3.       In order to promote its work, IFA uses photographs, videos and other output from the various programs conducted on its behalf, and these items are shared on the various social media sites and on their website, and also on printed materials that may be distributed to our donors and the audience in their events. This is done with utmost professionalism and only for the purpose of promoting the work of IFA. Please let your lead/coordinator know if you do not wish to be tagged in any of our social media posts. By participating, you consent to the use of your image, voice or comments on IFA’s website, their posts on social media sites and in their printed materials.

Thank you – let’s have fun and make this a grand Archana!
